Two young men in Ho Chi Minh City and Long An worked together to "hunt" gay friends on Zalo, invited them to a motel to talk, then drugged and robbed them.

On October 1, Duong Minh Chau District Police arrested Pham Van My (27 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) and Nguyen Nhut Phuong Hai (26 years old, Long An) for robbery.

Previously, on August 23, My used Zalo to make friends with Mr. Thanh in Duong Minh Chau district. Knowing that the other person was gay, My made an appointment with him at K13 bridge in Bau Nang commune to "talk".

That same afternoon, My brought 2 glasses of sugarcane juice and 4 cans of beer and was driven to the meeting place by Hai. Later, Thanh arrived on a motorbike and My invited him to a motel to "have fun".

At the motel, My asked Thanh to drink a glass of sugarcane juice that he had added sedatives to and a glass of beer. When the victim was unconscious, he searched his wallet, took 2.5 million VND, his cell phone, a 3-tael gold bracelet, and his motorbike, and then escaped.

Late at night, the motel owner checked on Thanh and found him unconscious, so he called the police. Seven days later, My and Hai were arrested while in Tan An Hoi commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the investigation agency, the two robbers confessed that using similar methods, they had committed 15 robberies of homosexuals in districts in Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An. Both of them took the property to Cambodia to sell, and used the money to gamble at casinos.
