DailymailAccording to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 7:45 PM on September 13th (local time). A United Airlines plane had just landed when it collided with an Alaska Airlines plane that was moving onto the runway.
Reportedly, there were 351 passengers on board the two planes at the time, but fortunately, no one was injured.
Passenger Diana Westmyer on the United Airlines flight recounted feeling strong turbulence before the pilot instructed passengers to remain seated and fasten their seatbelts.
United Airlines stated that the aircraft was moving slowly toward the gate. All 169 passengers safely disembarked while engineers investigated the issue.
The 182 passengers on the Alaska Airlines flight were transferred to another aircraft to continue their journey to Portland, Oregon, about two hours later.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
The incident occurred just about a week after a British Airways plane en route to London caught fire at Las Vegas airport. More than 170 passengers were evacuated from the plane using emergency slides. Aviation officials said at least 14 people were taken to hospital.
