Two Koreas may open direct flights
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 16, South Korea and North Korea held a meeting to discuss cooperation in the aviation sector, including opening a direct flight route across the Korean peninsula.

According to the Unification Ministry, the meeting began at 10am (local time) at the joint liaison office in the South Korean city of Kaesong. North Korea had previously requested the meeting.
Mr. Son Myung-soo, a veteran official of the Ministry of Transport, led the South Korean delegation. His North Korean counterpart was Mr. Ri Yong-son, Deputy Director of the General Department of Civil Aviation of North Korea.
Earlier, the South Korean Unification Ministry said the two Koreas would continue to discuss issues of common concern related to cooperation in the aviation sector, but did not provide details.
North Korea's proposal to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) may also be discussed at the meeting. Previously, North Korea proposed allowing its aircraft to fly through South Korean airspace to a third country. In addition, the meeting will also address the issue of repairing North Korea's airport.
