According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Lac (Mrs. An's husband), on the morning of May 31st, Mrs. An went to work in the fields alone. Around 9:30 AM, the family received information that Mrs. An had fainted in the field. The family immediately rushed to the scene and found Mrs. An lying unconscious on the ground. They quickly called an ambulance to take her to Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, but it was too late.
On the morning of June 1st, Mr. Nguyen Van Lieu (born in 1964), residing in Hamlet 10, went to the field to plow peanuts with his relatives. After plowing just a few furrows, Mr. Lieu felt dizzy and fainted. His relatives had to help him sit down to rest. He later regained consciousness and continued working, but fainted again. This time, his relatives panicked and took him to the commune's health station, but upon arrival, Mr. Lieu was unconscious and his pulse could not be detected. The family called an ambulance to take him to the hospital, but he passed away.
It is known that Nghe An province has experienced prolonged hot weather in the past few days, and it is very likely that the two victims died from heatstroke, Ms. Oanh said.
