Two growth options for tourism in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - Based on the overall growth plan and scenario for 2020 and the projected results for the first six months, the Department of Tourism has just released its projected growth scenario for the last six months of 2020.
According to the scenario, there are two options:High optionThe total number of overnight visitors was 1,906,000 (including 2,510 international visitors); tourism service revenue reached 1,788 billion VND.Low optionThe goal is to achieve a total of 614,000 overnight visitors (including 1,002 international visitors); and tourism service revenue of 309 billion VND.
Previously, during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, many travel businesses generated no revenue due to a lack of customers, and some even had to cease operations. Tourist attractions in the area were deserted, and the number of visitors and revenue of accommodation businesses decreased sharply by 40-70%.

To achieve the set goals, in the coming period, the tourism industry will focus on directing the implementation of state support policies for tourism businesses and establishments. It will promptly implement stimulus measures to restore accommodation and service businesses serving tourists, and develop attractive and reasonably priced tourism stimulus programs, primarily focusing on increasing value...

It is estimated that in the first six months of 2020, the province welcomed nearly 1.2 million overnight visitors (46% compared to the same period in 2019), achieving the plan according to the adjusted growth scenario. Of these, 16,970 were international visitors (22% compared to the same period in 2019). Tourism service revenue is estimated at 1,119 billion VND (45% compared to the same period in 2019).

In the travel sector, businesses served 14,500 visitors (36% compared to the same period in 2019); including 2,930 international visitors (23.4% compared to the same period in 2019). Travel revenue is estimated at VND 30.18 billion (24% compared to the same period in 2019).
