Israeli navy opens fire on Palestinian fishing boats
Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported on December 26 that Israeli naval forces opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats on the northern coast of the Gaza Strip on the same day.
However, no one was injured in the incident.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman's office said soldiers fired warning shots into the air when the boats crossed the limits of the six-mile assessment zone.
On the same day, Israeli security forces shot and wounded a Palestinian accused of trying to sneak into Israeli-occupied territories from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, 12 Palestinians were arrested in an IDF raid east of Kalkilya on the night of December 25. All those arrested are being questioned by Israeli security forces.
During the 51-day war in the Gaza Strip last summer, Israel completely surrounded the strip of land by water, land and air to prevent rockets from Gaza into Israeli territory.
After the military campaign ended, as part of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, Israel allowed Palestinian fishermen to fish within 6 miles of the Gaza Strip's coast, instead of only 3 miles as before./.
