Navy launches electronic newspaper, promotes propaganda about sea and islands

On June 8, the Navy Command summarized the results of coordination in propagating sea and islands between the Vietnam Navy Newspaper and press agencies in Hai Phong city during the period 2011-2016 and launched the electronic Navy Newspaper with the domain name http://www.baohaiquanvietnam.vn.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rear Admiral Dinh Gia That, Political Commissar of the Navy, informed about the current situation of sea and islands and the responsibility of officers and soldiers of the Navy in ensuring political security, order and safety, and maintaining a peaceful environment at sea.


For the Navy electronic newspaper to operate effectively, Rear Admiral Dinh Gia That requested units in the Navy in general and the Vietnam Navy Newspaper in particular to perform well tasks such as coordinating with central and local press agencies to learn about and report on activities in the Navy.

The Navy Newspaper should actively strive to become a multimedia media agency, proactive in operations, information exchange, ensuring fast, accurate, and rich information and be the leading electronic newspaper of the Navy. Build a team of enthusiastic, dedicated, independent, autonomous reporters, and pay attention to the development of informants and collaborators.

The Navy Electronic Newspaper needs to ensure information security issues, especially network security; and control information related to national and military secrets. Press agencies continue to pay attention to in-depth propaganda work on the sea and islands, creating a widespread spread to the people of Hai Phong and the whole country about the image and the sacred and noble duty of Navy soldiers towards the Fatherland.

Regarding the coordination of propaganda work between the Vietnam Navy Newspaper and local press agencies in the period of 2016-2020, Colonel Nguyen Tuy, Deputy Chief of Politics, Political Department of the Navy, requested the press agencies to continue implementing the signed Programs, study, supplement and amend unreasonable contents to improve the quality, quantity and effectiveness of coordination of propaganda work on seas and islands between the Vietnam Navy Newspaper and press agencies of Hai Phong city and central and local press agencies nationwide.

The Navy Political Department will advise the Party Committee and the Navy Command to propose and coordinate with the Central Propaganda Department, the General Department of Politics of the People's Army, and the Ministry of Information and Communications to continue organizing training on knowledge about the sea, islands, and the Navy for reporters of press agencies.

Vietnam Navy Newspaper strengthens coordination with leaders of Hai Phong press agencies, in charge of press agencies with permanent offices in Hai Phong to promptly inform and propagate the activities of the Navy and Hai Phong city in the most effective way; build a coordination mechanism, share information on electronic newspapers about activities to protect sovereignty, develop marine economy, protect marine environment and other fields in the most effective way.

The Navy coordinates to organize for reporters from Hai Phong press agencies to work with working groups to visit and encourage soldiers in Truong Sa and DK1 Platform every year according to appropriate numbers and subjects.

During the period of 2011-2016, the coordination of information between the Navy and press agencies provided information about the sea and islands as well as the activities of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Vietnam People's Navy to the people inside and outside Hai Phong city in a timely and accurate manner, contributing to answering issues of public concern, helping people fully and promptly grasp the viewpoints and policies of the Party and State on the sea and islands; activities of fighting to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Vietnam People's Navy./.
