According to the analysis of the Provincial Customs Department, the reason for the increase in revenue in the third quarter is that revenue from major import and export items such as: white limestone, clinker, machinery and equipment, steel of all kinds, rolled aluminum, vegetable oil, milk carton paper, chemicals... tends to increase; export and import activities of traditional items are maintained regularly and more vibrant. Import and export turnover reached 397.82 million USD, an increase of 48% over the same period in 2017 (268.78 million USD).

Revenue from imported machinery and equipment from investment projects in the area contributed significantly to total revenue in the third quarter and the first nine months of the year.

In the third quarter and the first 9 months of 2018, despite being affected by the new policy mechanism, revenue from imported petroleum products was almost non-existent, but the revenue of Nghe An Customs Department still increased compared to the same period in 2017 because many solutions were deployed since the beginning of the year.

Specifically: Nghe An Customs Department assigns tasks and targets to strive for state budget collection (1,500 billion VND) to the Sub-Departments; promptly resolves problems arising related to customs procedures, tax policies, tax management, accounting regimes, tax refund and tax exemption regimes...; strengthens inspection of cases of tax reduction, tax exemption, tax refund, tax non-collection, implements tax exemption, tax refund, tax non-collection in accordance with regulations; conducts consultation and determines customs value.
