It is reported that along the entire route, the Ukrainian ship was escorted by Russian ships named "Priazove", "Amethyst" and "Don", and in the Kerch Strait itself, the Ukrainian navy ship was "escorted" by more than a dozen ships of the Federal Security Service and the Black Sea Fleet.
As the Ukrainian Navy stated, the Russian armed forces had a number of "dangerous incidents", including the case of the Russian reconnaissance ship "Priazove" allegedly approaching too close to the Ukrainian ship, at a distance of nearly 440 meters, which violated the provisions of international law and created a dangerous situation.
The Ukrainian Navy ships were escorted by the Russian Federal Security Service's maritime protection vessels "in accordance with international maritime law and with the aim of ensuring the security of the Russian Federation," the region's border management agency said.
