Two talents, two destinies...

(Baonghean)Throughout history, many football talents have emerged and achieved fame in Nghe An province, becoming big names in the sport. Among them, Van Quyen and Cong Vinh were both great talents, but their fates in their football careers were very different.

Years of youth have passed, and Van Quyen and Cong Vinh are now mature men, at the peak of their lives and football careers. Van Quyen's life has been full of ups and downs, both in his personal life and his career. Fans still find it hard to forget the dribbling, free-kicks, and goals of the former prodigy, even though his talent was only displayed for a very short period. It seemed that when he no longer had a place to "perform" at SLNA and sought new challenges, Van Quyen would strive to regain his glory, but from XMXT.SG to V.NB, Quyen failed to leave any mark. Quyen possessed innate talent but lacked something crucial to rise after setbacks.

What Van Quyen lacked, Cong Vinh possessed in abundance. Though only one year younger than his senior, Cong Vinh's path demonstrated the qualities of a true man. Vinh's decision to return to SLNA was considered wise, as the Vinh stadium was perhaps the best place at the time for him to prove to everyone that "class is permanent." After only three matches in the 2013 V.League season, Cong Vinh had already shown his worth, scoring four goals and playing with extreme aggression. He delivered what SLNA needed – goals; and he provided what the fans desired – beautiful, dedicated play. It can be said that Cong Vinh's return and success were a driving force for Coach Huu Thang's young squad.
