Two fishing boats with 19 crew members in Nghe An had an accident
(Baonghean.vn) - Two fishing boats, NA-94281-TS, captained by Hoang Van Phuong, and NA-90427-TS, captained by Nguyen Van Thuy, with 17 crew members, were operating at sea when they were sunk by an iron-hulled ship with unknown registration number and nationality, which then fled.
News from Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station said: At about 10:00 a.m. on April 4, 2018, Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station received news that fishing boat NA-94281-TS captained by Mr. Hoang Van Phuong (born in 1976), residing in Tan Tien block, Quynh Phuong ward, had 8 crew members on board, and boat NA - 90427 - TS captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (born in 1983), residing in Tan Tien block, Quynh Phuong ward, with 9 crew members were operating at coordinates 19º47´N - 106º59´E when they were sunk by an iron-hulled ship of unknown registration number and nationality (suspected to be a cargo ship) and then fled.
Consequences: 07 crew members on board NA - 90427 - TS were injured, of which 3 crew members were seriously injured: Bui Van Vien (born in 1987), residing in Phuong Hong - Quynh Phuong block, Hoang Mai town; Pham Van Viet (born in 1990), residing in Tan Hai block, Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town; Nguyen Van Sy (born in 1995), residing in Quyet Tien block, Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town.
Upon receiving the news, the unit notified the search and rescue center of region I about the incident.
At 1:00 p.m. today (April 4), a rescue ship departed. It is expected that it will reach the ship in distress tonight and take about 24 hours to bring the crew members to Lach Con fishing port.
Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station also notified the Quynh Phuong ward authorities and the victim's family; notified 4 fishing boats operating in the area of the accident, including NA-90344-TS; NA-93177-TS; NA-92105-TS; NA-93699-TS, all residing in Quynh Phuong, to come and assist.
Currently, the health condition of the crew members is no longer critical./.
