Two young men impersonating police officers to scam money to fix cases via Zalo
(Baonghean.vn) - Knowing that Ms. Trang's husband was being detained by the police, two young men pretended to be police officers and used Zalo to call and ask for money to pay for the case.
Anh Son District Police (Nghe An) are detaining two young men, one residing in Hanoi and one residing in Anh Son District.investigate and clarify fraudulent property appropriation.
Previously, these two young men learned that Ms. Trang, residing in Dien Chau district, had her husband arrested by Anh Son district police for illegally possessing drugs to defraud and appropriate 50 million VND from her, so they had the intention to defraud.
They used mobile phones to make friends on Zalo and called Ms. Trang, introducing themselves as officers of Anh Son District Police. If they wanted to request her husband's release, they should transfer 50 million to her bank account.
Trusting the advice, Ms. Trang transferred the money but later realized she had been scammed so she reported it to the police.
Currently, Anh Son District Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
