Couple was hunted down, one is in emergency care in Nghe An
Mrs. Tran Thi Lai died after Nguyen Doan Van broke into her house with a knife and attacked her. Her husband was seriously stabbed and taken to Nghe An for emergency treatment.

At 1:00 p.m. on May 7, residents of Nam Hong ward, Hong Linh town heard a cry for help from the house of Mrs. Lai (52 years old) in residential group 3. When they arrived, they saw Mrs. Lai and her husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Bau, collapsed in a pool of blood in the living room, so they called an ambulance to take them to Hong Ha General Hospital.
After two hours, Mrs. Lai died. Mr. Bau was transferred to Nghe An Friendship General Hospital in critical condition with a poor prognosis.
Examining the scene and taking statements from several witnesses, the authorities identified the assassin as Nguyen Doan Van (54 years old, residing in Duc Dung commune, Duc Tho district), who is on the run. The suspect knew Ms. Lai.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Dung, Chief of Hong Linh Town Police, said Van is being sought.
