Pacific Fleet begins exercises involving more than 60 military ships
(Baonghean.vn) - The Pacific Fleet has begun exercises in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk with the participation of more than 60 warships and support vessels, the Pacific Fleet press service said.
“According to the Pacific Fleet command's training plan for 2023, from June 5 to June 20 in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, joint combat exercises of the Fleet's forces in distant waters will take place under the command of Admiral Viktor Liina, Commander of the Pacific Fleet,” the press service said.

The exercise involved more than 60 warships and support vessels of the Fleet, about 35 aircraft of the naval aviation, the coast guard and more than 11 thousand servicemen. Currently, the Pacific Fleet forces are deployed in the designated areas and "have begun to carry out practical tasks according to the program of combat exercises in the far sea area", the Fleet representative noted.
During the actual exercise, the tactical ship groups together with the naval air force will search for and track the enemy's simulated submarines, conduct combat training exercises to destroy targets at sea and in the air, including missile and artillery firing. In addition, the program will also organize air defense for naval fleets as well as logistics for the forces at sea./.
