Failed to rape, killed and hid the body in the sewer

On November 22, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Procuracy issued a decision approving the decision to prosecute the accused and the detention order of the Dak Lak Provincial Police Investigation Agency against Nguyen Van Thu.(45 years old, residing in village 9, Ea Pil commune, M'drak district) for the crimes of "Murder, rape and robbery".

In addition to defendant Thu, defendant Vu Thi May (45 years old, Thu's wife) was also prosecuted by the Investigation Agency for the crime of "Concealing a crime". May was the one who helped her husband hide the victim's body.

As previously reported, on the morning of November 12, Thu went down to her family's hut in village 2, Ea Pil commune and discovered Ms. Pham Thi Phuc (40 years old, resident of village 2) standing and talking to a strange man. Thinking that Ms. Phuc had "feelings" for this man, Thu threatened to tell everyone. Seeing that, Ms. Phuc immediately said she would give Thu 2 million VND if Thu kept quiet.

At around 12 noon the same day, not seeing Ms. Phuc give her the money as promised, Thu immediately called Ms. Phuc to come to her house in village 9 to deliver the money. Receiving the call, Ms. Phuc rode her motorbike to Thu's house to give him the money. Here, after receiving the money from Ms. Phuc, Thu had the intention of having sex with Ms. Phuc, so she touched her body with her hands, but the victim resisted and ran out the door.

Thu immediately chased after her, grabbed her hair, pulled her down to the floor and hit her face many times. When she was beaten, she cried for help, then Thu took a wooden pestle and a brick and hit her repeatedly on the head, causing her to die on the spot. Seeing her lying motionless, Thu pulled her shirt and pants to commit the depraved act, but when she discovered that she was dead, Thu stopped.

And the defendant May, Thu's wife, who helped Thu transport the victim's body to dispose of it.

After the murder, Thu searched the victim's pockets and took 200,000 VND, a pair of earrings and a gold necklace. Then Thu went behind the house to get a tarp, wrapped the victim in it and hid it behind the family's pigsty. At around 5:00 p.m. that day, when she returned from work, May, Thu's wife, heard the story but did not advise her to turn herself in, but instead, she and her husband carried the victim's body away to hide it.

Upon receiving a report from her family that Ms. Phuc had gone to Thu's house but had not returned, the police force searched for the victim and invited suspicious individuals to come in for questioning, including Thu and her husband. During the investigation, Thu and her husband confessed to all their crimes.
