Heavy metal content in marine fish in Ha Tinh is at permissible threshold.
After collecting 12 samples of sea fish, shrimp, crab, squid... in Ha Tinh, the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control concluded that the content of heavy metals and pesticides in these foods were all within the permissible limits.
There were 12 samples of sea fish, shrimp, crab, fresh squid, seawater, vegetables... taken by the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) and the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control in coordination with Ha Tinh authorities at Ky Nam Fishing Port area (Ky Anh town) on April 28.

Speaking to VnExpress, Mr. Phan Van Hung, Head of the Food Safety and Hygiene Department (Ha Tinh Department of Health) said that the province has established an interdisciplinary working group including health, agriculture, and related departments. Every day, the group goes to places where people often fish, fishing ports in the Ha Tinh sea to collect samples of seafood for testing, from which they will have specific recommendations for people.

To reassure people about their beach vacations, two days ago, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Tinh also announced the analysis parameters of water samples at some beaches in Ha Tinh such as Xuan Hai (Loc Ha), Xuan Thanh (Nghi Xuan), Thach Hai (Thach Ha), Thien Cam (Cam Xuyen), Ky Ninh, Mui Dao (Ky Anh town). The results showed that the parameters were all within the allowable limits according to national technical regulations on seawater quality, beach bathing areas, and water sports. |
