South Korea: Protests against THAAD deployment turn into clashes.
Residents of Gansan-pukto province in South Korea took to the streets to express their opposition to the deployment of U.S. missile defense systems in the country, a protest that turned into clashes with police.

According to Yonhap News Agency, about 400 residents of a village in Sondju County, where additional housing complexes are planned to be built, gathered in front of the local administrative headquarters.
Police tried to push the protesters away from the building, but the protesters were determined to break in, and a fight ensued.
According to preliminary data, there have been victims, but their condition is unclear.
Earlier, in the context of North Korea's nuclear test over the weekend, on September 6, Seoul announced the deployment of four additional missile launch systems from the US THAAD missile defense system in South Korea.
Additional components of the missile defense system will be deployed by U.S. forces in South Korea at a new base in Sondju, 300 km south of Seoul.
