South Korea accepts North Korea's offer of dialogue on Kaesong.

The South Korean government announced on August 7th that it accepts North Korea's proposal for dialogue on the Kaesong joint industrial complex on August 14th.

Kim Hyung-seok, spokesman for the South Korean Ministry of Unification, said that the talks will be held at the Kaesong joint industrial complex as requested by North Korea. The South Korean government hopes that the talks will lead to a reasonable solution to normalize the joint industrial complex.

On the morning of August 7th, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea proposed a seventh round of talks with South Korea regarding Kaesong. North Korea would also allow South Korean companies into the industrial complex to protect their assets.

The statement from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said: The two Koreas must avoid taking actions that affect the operation of the industrial complex under any circumstances and ensure that its operation is not affected by political issues.

Previously, North Korea and South Korea held six rounds of talks on Kaesong but failed to reach an agreement.
