South Korea lifts ban on receiving workers from Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The Overseas Labor Center has just issued Official Dispatch No. 1064/TTLĐNN - TCLĐ on coordinating the organization of labor selection under the EPS Program, Phase 1, 2024. Accordingly, Nghe An workers are one of the four provinces whose ban has been lifted and they are allowed to participate in this selection.
In addition to Nghe An, workers from the remaining three provinces, Ha Tinh, Hai Duong, and Thanh Hoa, will be able to participate in the first round of the 2024 Korean labor selection exam.
Korea will recruit 15,300 people in four industries. Of these, 11,200 are in manufacturing, nearly 900 in agriculture, 200 in construction, and more than 3,000 in fisheries.
This recruitment of workers to go to Korea takes place nationwide, without applying temporary suspension measures in localities like previous years.

However, according to the above document, workers participating in this recruitment exam must have never been deported from Korea; If they have ever resided in Korea, including legal and illegal residence under Visa E9 (EPS workers) or (and) visa E10 (fishing boat crew), the residence period must be less than 5 years; workers are not banned from leaving Vietnam; and have no relatives residing illegally in Korea.
In case the worker has gone to work in Korea under the EPS Program, he/she must return to his/her home country on time as per the contract. In case he/she has resided illegally in Korea, he/she must voluntarily return to his/her home country during the period when the Korean Government implemented the policy of exempting penalties for illegal residents who voluntarily present themselves to return to their home country. In this case, the worker must be able to present supporting documents.
Previously, in mid-March 2023, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs announced the temporary suspension of recruitment under the EPS Program in 8 localities in a number of provinces and cities, including 3 localities of Nghe An: Nghi Loc district, Cua Lo town and Hung Nguyen district. The reason is that these localities have 70 or more illegal workers residing in Korea or the rate of expired workers who do not return home on time is 27% or more.
