South Korea wants to cooperate in the medical field with Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the affirmation of Mr. Lee Young Chan - President of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute during his visit and work at Nghe An General Hospital on the morning of May 23.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were comrades: Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Director of the Department of Health; representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, and Nghe An General Hospital.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Lee Young Chan said that Korea has built and developed the healthcare industry over the past 40 years and has now achieved world-class standards in terms of technology, engineering and infrastructure. The Korean government is currently encouraging international cooperation projects in this field.
Vietnam and Korea have begun to reach agreements on medical cooperation. In December 2015, a Memorandum of Understanding confirming cooperation between the Vietnamese and Korean Ministries of Health, including specific contents and frameworks of activities, was signed. Accordingly, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute is responsible for implementing the contents of that Memorandum of Understanding.

Mr. Lee Lee Young Chan added: The Korea Health Industry Development Institute is not a medical facility, so it does not have medical examination and treatment infrastructure, does not recruit staff and specialists in the health sector, but this is the place that is mainly responsible for international cooperation projects of member units and companies. Therefore, the Institute will support as much as possible in the role of a connecting agent in the cooperation process.
At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Danh Linh - Director of Nghe An General Hospital gave an overview of the hospital as well as international cooperation programs. In particular, this unit has sent many staff to study at Samsung Hospital in Korea.

“With a team of well-trained doctors with foreign language skills, the hospital wishes to cooperate with Korea in the medical field. I believe that in the future we will have extensive and effective cooperation,” said Dr. Linh.
The delegation of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute visited some departments and facilities of Nghe An General Hospital. This afternoon, the provincial leaders will receive and work with the delegation.
