The document, officially called the “Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula,” was released after a day of meetings and 30 minutes of private talks between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in. “The two leaders officially declared... that there will be no more war on the Korean Peninsula and a new era of peace has begun,” the statement said.
