Airlines compete to increase service fees again
Domestic long-haul flight tickets (over 850 km) are subject to a system management surcharge of VND 150,000/leg. International flight tickets are subject to a system management surcharge of USD 7/leg.
Vietnam Airlines Corporation has just announced that from July 5, Vietnam Airlines will implement a new system management surcharge for low-cost groups of standard economy and economy economy and officially remove all ticket issuance service surcharges for all passengers when purchasing tickets on the website.
Vietnam Airlines believes that these are two necessary changes and are consistent with the general development trend of the aviation industry.

Specifically, for short domestic flight tickets (under 850 km), a system management surcharge of VND80,000/leg is applied. For long domestic flight tickets (over 850 km), a system management surcharge of VND150,000/leg is applied. For international flight tickets, a system management surcharge of USD7/leg is applied.
Business class, premium economy and flexible economy fare groups are exempt from the above system administration surcharges.
Vietnam Airlines believes that the implementation of the new system management surcharge is part of the effort to improve the quality of passenger data management, meeting the requirements of future system development. At the same time, applying the most reasonable system management surcharge along with providing the best quality service, Vietnam Airlines adjusts the surcharge levels to suit the price of each flight.

Vietnam Airlines believes that by removing the surcharge for ticket issuance services on the website, it is to encourage customers to experience and use modern and convenient ticket purchasing methods, in line with the growing trend of online shopping.
Previously, when customers purchased tickets on Vietnam Airlines' website, they had to pay a ticket issuance service surcharge of VND50,000/ticket, applicable to domestic flights in Vietnam and USD7/ticket, applicable to flights from Vietnam to international flights and flights departing from the UK, Germany, France, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Previously, from April 1, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet and Jetstar Pacific announced that service fees such as name and date changes will increase, in which children's tickets will be adjusted to be almost equal to adult tickets.
At the same time, Vietjet and Jetstar Pacific also increased system management fees. Jetstar Pacific adjusted the system management fee for domestic flights to VND210,000 (excluding VAT), an increase of VND70,000 compared to before. Vietjet increased the new system management fee from VND210,000 - VND370,000/ticket depending on domestic or international flights, an increase of VND100,000 - VND130,000/ticket.
