Many people 'fall into the trap' of online sales scammers
The police have just detained a fraudster who appropriated property from nearly 30 people by posting online sales ads.
On April 4, Tuy Duc District Police (Dak Nong) announced that they had just detained Le Cong Viet (born in 1995, residing in Ea Ktur commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province) to investigate the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
Initial investigation results show that, by using the social network Facebook to post articles and images selling cheap liquidated corrugated iron and steel products... and asking customers to transfer deposits before receiving the goods, from April 2023 to the end of March 2024, Le Cong Viet defrauded and appropriated nearly 70 million VND from nearly 30 victims in Dak Nong province.

Among them, Mr. Nguyen Huu T. (Tuy Duc district) was scammed out of 5 million VND by Viet when he contacted and agreed to buy 10 rolls of B40 mesh.
On March 27, Tuy Duc District Police coordinated with the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Dak Nong Provincial Police to verify and investigate.
On March 29, the police arrested Le Cong Viet and seized many pieces of evidence related to the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
Currently, Tuy Duc District Police are continuing to expand the investigation, and at the same time notify anyone who is a victim in this case to contact the unit to coordinate the resolution.
