Thousands of people eagerly attended the opening ceremony of the Sen Village Festival.

On the evening of May 17, at Lang Sen Stadium, Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of Lang Sen Festival 2019, commemorating the 129th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2019).

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Major General Ha Tan Tien - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities; more than 700 actors, athletes and a large number of people in the province.

Before the opening ceremony, the festival organizing committee exhibited large-scale propaganda paintings; offered flowers at the statue of Uncle Ho at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City; offered incense to report achievements at Kim Lien Relic Site; and carried Uncle Ho's portrait from Kim Lien Relic Site to Lang Sen Stadium - where the festival opening ceremony was held.

The opening speech presented by comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee respectfully reviewed the life and career of the great President Ho Chi Minh - a noble symbol of revolutionary heroism, a shining example for future generations to follow.

The 2019 Sen Village Festival was held at the provincial level, taking place for 4 days (May 16 - May 19, 2019) with many diverse activities: Volleyball competition, traditional martial arts of Sen Village Festival; film screening on the theme of Uncle Ho; photo exhibition "Simple but noble examples"; photo exhibition on the theme of praising the glorious Party, beloved Uncle Ho; art photography festival of the North Central region; organizing folk games; exhibition of Nghe Viet mascots; youth camp; offering flowers, incense and carrying Uncle Ho's photo; Sen Village Singing Festival; Miss Sen Village contest...

On the opening night of the 2019 Sen Village Festival, delegates and people in the province watched the special art program "Uncle Ho's words light our way", including many mixed music and dance performances praising beloved Uncle Ho, praising the glorious Party and love for the homeland performed by professional and non-professional art troupes.

The Sen Village Festival (formerly known as the “Sen Village Singing Festival”) was first held in May 1982; it was later upgraded to the Sen Village Festival, held annually at the provincial level and every five years at the national level. After 38 years of formation and development, the Sen Village Festival has become a major festival for the people of Nghe An in particular and the people of the whole country in general.
