In the joy of Independence Day, thousands of people from all over the country lined up to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum.
From 6am, the rain stopped and the sun came out, thousands of people from all over the country lined up to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. By 9am, the crowd was getting bigger and bigger and formed a line nearly 2km long from the gate of the Botanical Garden to Ngoc Ha Street.
Everyone was excited, hoping to soon visit Uncle Ho on Independence Day.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim, in Ung Hoa district, Hanoi, is 82 years old this year. Since 4 am, she and her children and grandchildren have been lining up and wanting to be the first people on September 2 to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum.
“I am very excited to visit Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum and wish to see him in person. I have only seen him in pictures before and I still imagine him. I love him, admire him and respect him. He is a supreme leader of the country. Visiting him, I wish the country to be peaceful, the people to be happy, and everything from family to society to progress,” said Mr. Kim.

Mr. Mai Xuan Thuy, 72 years old, from Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province, shared that he had visited Uncle Ho's Mausoleum many times, but he could never contain his emotions when he saw him. Coming from Vung Tau city to Hanoi on September 2, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung's biggest wish was for the whole family to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum.
Like every Vietnamese citizen, Mr. Thuy always remembers the merits of President Ho Chi Minh, so that the people can live in peace and independence today.

Visiting the Mausoleum today were many students, future owners of the country. Phan Phi Long, 16 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City, came to Hanoi with his family for the first time and felt honored and proud to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum.
Like millions of Vietnamese people, in my opinion, young people need to follow Uncle Ho's example to build Vietnam on par with developed countries in the world.
