Hang Rú Ấm - the place where the first Party branch in Nghĩa Đàn was established.
Hang Rú Ấm is where one of the first Party branches in the mountainous districts of Nghe An province was established in 1930. The banyan tree in Lang Tru village, where the people gathered to seize power in 1945, is located in Nghia Duc commune.
These two landmarks are a source of pride and inspiration for officials, Party members, and the people in the district in all movements.
Preserving revolutionary history
In early October 1930, at Hang Ru Am cave in Tho Loc commune (now Nghia Duc commune), Comrade Vo Nguyen Hien and Comrade Vo Thuoc held a meeting to discuss the establishment of a party branch. After reporting on the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc in February 1930, Comrade Vo Nguyen Hien announced the formation of a combined branch comprising party members from Tho Loc and Cu Lam communes.

This was one of the first Party cells established in the mountainous districts of Nghe An province.
On International Labor Day, May 1st, 1939, at Ru Am cave, the Nghia Dan District Party Committee organized a rally to further boost the revolutionary spirit of the masses. This rally attracted a large number of people from all walks of life in the Tho Loc, Cu Lam, Sen, Se areas and neighboring plantations, carrying banners and red flags with the hammer and sickle, praising the heroic struggle of international workers and laborers, and calling on workers in the district to strengthen solidarity and resolutely fight to protect their rights, demanding the maintenance of freedoms and democratic rights…
In mid-June 1945, the inter-provincial Viet Minh Front assigned Comrade Phan Huu Khiem the task of leading the establishment of the Nghia Dan District Viet Minh Front. On August 15, 1945, the order for the uprising from the inter-provincial Viet Minh Front was disseminated, and the District Uprising Committee was established. On the morning of August 22, 1945, under the leadership and organization of the Nghia Dan District Uprising Committee, thousands of people from the communes of Cu Lam, Nghia Hung, Thach Khe, Ha Suu, Thai Thinh, and hundreds of workers from plantations in the Phu Quy area, carrying hunting rifles, spears, sticks, and axes, gathered at the banyan tree in Lang Tru (Vinh Lai), raising red flags with yellow stars, shouting revolutionary slogans, and marching noisily towards the district capital.
At that time, the Provisional People's Committee and the Viet Minh Front Committee of the district were introduced to the public, declaring the permanent abolition of the imperialist and feudal regimes and the puppet government apparatus of the Japanese fascists.
