Hundreds of police officers were mobilized to combat firecrackers during Tet (Lunar New Year).

(Baonghean.vn) - On February 10th, the Vinh City Police Department held a conference to implement plans to ensure traffic order and prevent the use of fireworks in Vinh City during the Lunar New Year of the Goat 2015.

Attending the conference were Comrade Vo Viet Thanh, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; and leaders of the Vinh City People's Committee and Vinh City Police.

In accordance with the directives of the Provincial Police regarding ensuring traffic safety and preventing the use of fireworks during the Lunar New Year of the Goat 2015, the Vinh City Police have implemented plans to ensure absolute safety for people celebrating the Spring Festival and welcoming the New Year.

Throughout the Lunar New Year celebrations, the city police continued to implement intensive measures to control and minimize traffic accidents; organized traffic flow management on key routes with high traffic volume, especially at intersections with a high risk of congestion; intensified propaganda and dissemination of laws on traffic safety and firework prevention to all segments of the population; and continued to handle violations of sidewalk encroachment, road encroachment, and acts of public disorder.

In particular, during the Tet holiday, the Vinh City Police received increased personnel from the Provincial Police, deploying task forces at 23 key intersections and junctions, operating 24/7 to guide and manage traffic flow, ensuring absolutely smooth traffic.

At the conference, the Vinh City Police also presented plans to protect security and order at entertainment venues. In particular, on New Year's Eve, all 25 communes and wards will mobilize forces including militia, neighborhood security guards, and commune/ward police to intensify efforts to combat, prevent, and handle violations related to firecrackers and traffic safety.

Regarding the proposals from the City Police, the Provincial Police will strengthen forces to coordinate with the city's functional forces to ensure absolute safety for people celebrating the spring festival and welcoming the New Year.
