Hundreds of birds on passenger buses taken to Bac Ninh for consumption

(Baonghean.vn) - Hundreds of live and slaughtered wild birds of unknown origin were transported by passenger vans to Bac Ninh for consumption.

On the afternoon of May 3, the working group of Dien Chau Traffic Police Station inspected passenger cars traveling on National Highway 1A, through Dien Hong commune (Dien Chau).

Authorities discovered two bird cages on the vehicle, containing 170 live birds of various species and a cardboard box containing 15kg of slaughtered birds with a total weight of 80kg.

Driver Nguyen Van Huy (residing in Hai Duong province) could not present documents proving his origin and admitted to transporting a customer from Ha Tinh to Bac Ninh for sale.

Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station proceeded to destroy the above goods according to regulations.
