Hundreds of King Kong film crew members arrive in Phong Nha

An estimated 400 - 500 hotel rooms in the Phong Nha area (Quang Binh) were fully booked to serve the King Kong film crew.

Dozens of vehicles with equipment from the King Kong film crew are present in Phong Nha.

On the morning of February 21, hundreds of people and massive equipment from the Kong: Skull Island film crew arrived in the Phong Nha area, preparing to start filming the film in the next few days.

A survey of many hotels in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang area shows that all rooms were booked in advance by the film crew. Hotels, motels, and homestays all focused on rooms and staff to serve the film crew.

The receptionist at Phong Nha Hotel said the group had contacted them long ago to book a room. “A group of people came to check in and prepare early in the morning,” said the staff.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc, manager of a hotel in Phong Nha, estimated that about 500 hotel rooms were booked to serve the King Kong film crew.

On the same day, dozens of trucks with tons of equipment also arrived in Phong Nha.

Two scenic locations slated for King Kong filming

Local authorities mobilized many staff to ensure security and order at the locations where the film crew filmed scenes.

It is expected that the movie Kong: Skull Island will be filmed in two areas: Cha Noi valley (Trung Hoa commune) and Tan Hoa valley of Minh Hoa district, from February 22 to 27.
