DailyMail reports that a massive 9.7 gigabytes of data was posted on the dark web by the "Impact Team," a group claiming responsibility for the website hacking scandal. This data appears to include sensitive customer information such as payment transactions and credit card details, email addresses, names, addresses, and phone numbers.
If the information is accurate, it would expose the secrets of millions of married customers who used the website to engage in extramarital affairs.
With the slogan: "Life is too short. You have to cheat," the website for unfaithful people promises its 37 million global members complete anonymity.
Last month, the hacker group "Impact Team" announced they would steal information and threatened to publish full names, addresses, credit card information, and sexual requests if the website was not shut down.
Currently, although the leaked data does not include credit card information and transaction details, this cyberattack has embarrassed Avid Life Media, the company that owns the website, and exposed some of its 38 million members.
This hacking group claims that members of the online community should remain anonymous because they are despicable liars.
