Tens of thousands of Phuc Trach grapefruits fell down, leaving people numb.
After storm No. 10 passed, thousands of grapefruits that were about to be harvested in the grapefruit specialty area of Phuc Trach - Ha Tinh were 'super storm' and fell all over the garden. People were devastated by the huge loss of crops.
On the morning of September 16, in the mountainous district of Huong Khe (Ha Tinh), although not in the eye of storm No. 10, it still suffered very heavy damage. Thousands of roofs were destroyed by the storm, more than 400 hectares of Phuc Trach grapefruit trees, which were full of fruit and had not yet been sold, were "picked" by the storm.
In particular, thousands of grapefruits of farmers in Huong Thuy commune fell and rotted after the storm. However, because the roads were flooded, traders could not access them to buy the fallen grapefruits.

Faced with this situation, farmers could only laugh and cry.
Over the phone, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh (resident of Huong Thuy commune) tearfully said: "Is there any way to help me? My garden has more than 1,000 grapefruits that were broken by the storm, but the water is too strong to sell. I picked them up and stored them at home, but I'm afraid they will spoil if left for too long."
At this time, the river water in Huong Thuy commune rose high, it took nearly 10km by river to reach Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh's family, so there was no way to approach.
In another area, sitting next to a pile of grapefruits that had just been picked up by traders because they were crushed and had lost their cores, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien from Huong Trach commune sadly said: "Yesterday afternoon, sitting in the house listening to the storm, the noise like a bomb, grapefruit branches breaking and the sound of grapefruits falling in the garden, it was heartbreaking. When the storm passed, I went out to the garden and couldn't believe my eyes. Half the garden had fallen grapefruits."
“Previously, grapefruits were sold for 80,000 VND/fruit. Now the grapefruits have fallen and it has rained, so traders only pay 10,000 VND for each fruit. My family’s losses amount to hundreds of millions of VND.”
Next to that is Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lai's house, also sadly said: "My family has more than 1,000 grapefruits that fell to the ground. Some have been collected into the house, some are left under the tree. I also bought them for other households but at a cheap price because few people buy fallen grapefruits."
