(Baonghean.vn) - Links in the drug trafficking network from Laos to Nghe An and then to other provinces for consumption have been continuously cut off, but their "octopus tentacles" continue to grow and reach deep into the interior.

The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has consecutively successfully broken up two major cases. Among them, it dismantled a large drug trafficking and transportation ring from Laos to Nghe An for consumption in the northern provinces, while successfully investigating and arresting the mastermind and leader of another transnational drug trafficking ring.

Previously, through the work of grasping the local situation and closely coordinating with the professional forces of the Ministry of Public Security, the unit discovered a transnational drug trafficking ring in which Lao subjects colluded with subjects in Vietnam to transport drugs from Laos to the border of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and then bring them to the northern provinces for consumption. In order to concentrate forces to quickly eradicate this drug ring, the provincial police decided to establish a special project and assigned the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department to preside over it.
