The arduous journey of former SLNA U13 goalkeeper Ho Viet Dai
(Baonghean.vn) - Although highly regarded for his talent, the dream of wearing the SLNA first team jersey to compete in the V.League arena has yet to come true for the goalkeeper born in 2000.
More than 8 years ago, at the 2013 National U13 Finals, Ho Viet Dai and his teammates convincingly won the championship. At the tournament held at 19/8 Stadium in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa), Ho Viet Dai was also one of the most outstanding players of U13 SLNA, alongside defender Ta Anh Dat, midfielder Ta Quoc Tien and striker Luong Van Hung.

Thanks to his extremely impressive performances, especially in the final match against U13 Viettel 1 (Viettel Youth Football Training Center had 2 participating teams), Ho Viet Dai was awarded the title of "best goalkeeper of the tournament" by the Organizing Committee. Unfortunately, that halo was only a short "minute of glory", a sweet, unforgettable memory for the goalkeeper from Nam Dan.
Because, since the 2013 National U13 Finals, Ho Viet Dai "suddenly disappeared". In addition to the reason of not being able to compete for a position with teammates like Duong Van Cuong, Nguyen Thanh Huy or Nguyen Van Ba, Ho Viet Dai also occasionally suffered injuries. It is known that the goalkeeper born in 2000 has just undergone a period of treatment at the PVF Center (Hung Yen).

Sharing with Nghe An Newspaper, Ho Viet Dai revealed: "This year, I am 21 years old, but my career is still going nowhere. Many times, I feel discouraged and intend to retire. Among my peers born in 2000 at the SLNA training center, many have quit football to pursue other jobs. However, my biggest wish is still to wear the SLNA shirt to compete in the V.League arena."
However, Ho Viet Dai’s chance to be promoted to SLNA’s first team is not really clear, at least in the upcoming season. Simply put, in recent times, Ho Viet Dai has rarely been able to put on gloves and enter the field in a match of an official tournament. Therefore, to realize his dream of wearing SLNA’s first team shirt, Ho Viet Dai must know how to wait and constantly make efforts.
Similar to Ho Viet Dai's case, the remaining teammates in the SLNA U13 team are struggling on their "shorts and numbered shirts" career path. Some players have even had their contracts terminated by SLNA for various reasons, such as Ta Quoc Tien. Up to now, only Le Thanh Lam is on the SLNA first team./.
