(Baonghean.vn) - The humanitarian surgery program, implemented by Vinh International Hospital in coordination with the Provincial Children's Fund and sponsor Zhishan, with the wish "For imperfect children's shapes", has helped hundreds of disabled children in Nghe An over the past 3 years.

We met two sisters V, in Dien Chau (Nghe An) on a hot summer day, May 2018, at a disability screening program.

The V sisters are among the unfortunate children whose legs are deformed. This defect causes their motor function to be impaired, along with an inferiority complex with their peers, hidden deep in their small, clear eyes.

Born into a poor family, the father also suffered from motor disabilities. Both daughters were born with disabilities, the worry was etched on the father's haggard face, unable to afford early treatment for his children.

With financial support for surgery from sponsor Zhishan and Nghe An Children's Fund, the two children had successful left leg surgery performed by doctors at Vinh International Hospital in May 2018.

And this May, in the annual humanitarian surgery program held at Vinh International Hospital, the two children will continue to undergo orthopedic surgery to perfect their remaining right legs. For the doctors and nurses at Vinh International Hospital who have been tirelessly working on the charity journey of "Humanitarian Surgery" over the years, there is no greater happiness than seeing the children's figures becoming more perfect every day.

Continuing the meaningful humanitarian journey implemented over the past 3 years, from May 22 to May 31,Vinh International Hospital cooperated with Nghe An Provincial Children's Fund and sponsor Zhishan to carry out a humanitarian surgery program for disabled children in Nghe An in 2019.

The program screened more than 200 children and prescribed surgery for 60 children with various disabilities in the motor organs (X-shaped legs, O-shaped legs, contracted fingers...) and the genitourinary organs (inguinal hernia, hydrocele, undescended testicles...).

All children receive full surgical expenses. In addition, Zhishan Foundation gives gifts and partially covers travel and accommodation expenses for families during their treatment at the Hospital.

After surgery, children are continuously monitored through a follow-up schedule for genitourinary surgery. For children with motor disabilities who have had surgery, doctors will instruct them on rehabilitation exercises to help their motor organs develop more normally and completely.
