(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 1, the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women in collaboration with the Center for Research and Application of Science on Gender-Family-Women-Adolescents (CSAGA) organized a workshop on "Implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention".

The Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control was passed by the 12th National Assembly at its 2nd session on November 21, 2007, and took effect on July 1, 2008. This is an important law with profound humanitarian significance, institutionalizing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on domestic violence prevention and control. The implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control is the responsibility of all levels, sectors, each family and the whole society.
In recent years, the implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in the province has received attention from the Party Committee, the government, and departments and organizations. The dissemination and education of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in particular has been carried out in a synchronous manner; helping people gradually realize that domestic violence is a violation of the law.
At the workshop, delegates presented the report "Sharing the work of handling perpetrators of domestic violence" of the Investigation Police Agency; "Results of implementing the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention" of the Department of Justice; comments from the practical implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention in the two districts of Ky Son and Tuong Duong... Thereby, exchanging and sharing experiences, removing difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention. The comments focused on the issue of preventing and combating domestic violence of each individual and each family member. Building a happy family must be based on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
