SLNA defender completes C-level coaching course
(Baonghean.vn) - Former national team player Tran Dinh Dong is among 24 students participating in the C-license coaching training course organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), taking place from November 29 to December 11 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
Thus, with the certificate just granted by AFC, Tran Dinh Dong has become the next SLNA player to possess a coaching certificate before retiring from his playing career, alongside Nguyen Quang Tinh and Hoang Van Binh. From this point on, the defender from Anh Son (Nghe An) has been qualified to undertake the task of training young players at all Centers and Academies across the country.

Currently, Tran Dinh Dong is still a free player, after ending his contract with the Nghe An team. It is known that the SLNA Board of Directors has asked the former U23 Vietnam and Vietnam National Team player to continue playing for the Vinh team next season. However, because SLNA has not found a sponsor, the contract between the two sides has not been completed as expected.
In the 2019 season, Tran Dinh Dong was one of SLNA's best players. According to statistics, the former Thanh Hoa Club player was used by coach Nguyen Duc Thang in a total of 25 matches (24 matches in V.League, 1 match in the National Cup). This is a very impressive achievement for a player over 30 years old. It is quite understandable that SLNA wants Tran Dinh Dong to continue playing at Vinh Stadium.
