(Baonghean.vn) –On the morning of August 22nd, the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, led by Mr. Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Inspection Committee; and Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, conducted a monitoring visit on the construction of new rural areas and the implementation of policies and mechanisms for agriculture issued by the Provincial People's Council in Luu Son and Thinh Son communes, Do Luong district.
The New Rural Development program in Luu Son commune has been implemented quite comprehensively, focusing on mobilizing people to contribute and exchange land and money to improve fields, expand and upgrade internal field roads, canals, and rural roads. The locality also focuses on transforming the economic structure towards multi-sectoral occupations and crop conversion to create many effective economic models, increasing income to 25 million VND/person/year. Currently, the commune has met 10 out of 19 New Rural Development criteria; 5 criteria are close to being met; and 4 criteria are facing difficulties. Thinh Son commune alone has met or basically met 15 out of 19 criteria.

The inspection team checked the mobilization of public contributions for building new rural areas in Luu Son commune.
Regarding the implementation of agricultural policies in Luu Son and Thinh Son communes, these policies are only applied to winter corn and rattan crops, basically meeting the needs of the people. However, the localities also proposed that the province should consider providing additional support for other high-economic-value crops in each locality during the economic restructuring process in building new rural areas, thereby stimulating investment, expanding production, and increasing farmers' income.
Through monitoring, the delegation clarified several difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level, such as the issue of rural waste disposal and pesticide packaging in the commune; the difficulty in implementing the construction of cultural villages due to violations of population and family planning policies; cultural infrastructure, rural markets, and labor structure meeting the criteria for New Rural Development... At the same time, they requested localities to strive to maintain the achieved criteria, pay attention to difficult issues, and focus on decisive leadership and direction to strive to complete new criteria, ensuring continuous development and fulfilling the plan and goals for New Rural Development.
