(Baonghean.vn) - The session will open tomorrow morning (July 18). The session will review and assess the implementation of the province's socio-economic development plan for the first six months of the year, as well as the tasks and solutions for the last six months of 2018, and decide on many other important issues.

The 6th session of the Provincial People's Council is scheduled to be held over two and a half days, from July 18th to 20th, 2018. The session will assess the province's socio-economic development in the first six months of the year, and subsequently consider and discuss measures to direct, manage, and overcome difficulties, thereby promoting the completion of the targets and tasks for 2018 as set forth in the Provincial People's Council's resolution; it will also review and discuss reports on the work of the Standing Committee and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Court, the Provincial People's Procuracy, and the Provincial Civil Enforcement Department on the results of their work in the first six months and their tasks for the last six months of 2018.

The session will also consider the report of the Provincial People's Committee on the results of resolving opinions and recommendations of voters before, during, and after the 5th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council; the implementation of the Notice of Conclusion of the interpellation session and the promises of departments and agencies at the 5th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council; hear a report on the activities of the Provincial Fatherland Front in participating in government building, opinions and recommendations of local people; and propose and recommend necessary issues to the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee.

At this session, the Provincial People's Council is expected to consider, discuss, and approve 17 draft resolutions related to socio-economic development, national defense and security, as well as addressing practical issues.

The Provincial People's Council will also allocate time for a question-and-answer session with the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments on four pressing issues of concern to the Provincial People's Council representatives, voters, and the people of the province. These include: policies on resettlement and ensuring livelihoods for people affected by hydropower projects in the province; the deteriorating state of the power grid infrastructure, causing safety hazards and poor quality of electricity in many areas; the rate of application of scientific research results to practical social life; and the application of science and technology to boost labor productivity and high technology to serve socio-economic development in the province.

This session also includes personnel matters within the authority of the Provincial People's Council and the awarding of medals of various ranks to provincial leaders and leaders of provincial departments and agencies. The 6th session of the Provincial People's Council will proceed with the adoption of resolutions and conclude the session on July 20, 2018.
