The meeting will review and evaluate the implementation of the province's socio-economic development plan in the first 6 months of the year and tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2018 and decide on many other important contents.

The 6th session of the Provincial People's Council is scheduled to be held for 2 and a half days, from July 18 to 20, 2018. The session will assess the socio-economic development situation of the province in the first 6 months of the year, from which to consider and discuss measures to direct, manage, remove difficulties, promote the completion of targets and tasks in 2018 as set out in the Provincial People's Council resolution; consider and discuss the work reports of the Standing Committee and Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Court, the Provincial People's Procuracy, the Provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Department on the results of the work in the first 6 months of the year, tasks for the last 6 months of 2018.
The session will also review the report of the Provincial People's Committee on the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations before, during and after the 5th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council; the implementation of the Notice of Conclusion of the Questioning Session and the promises of the departments and branches at the 5th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council; listen to the announcement on the activities of the Provincial Fatherland Front in participating in government building, opinions and recommendations of local people; propose and recommend to the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee necessary issues.

At this session, the Provincial People's Council is expected to review, discuss and approve 17 draft resolutions related to socio-economic development, national defense and security as well as resolve practical issues.
The Provincial People's Council will also spend time to conduct a question and answer session with the Provincial People's Committee and related sectors on 4 pressing issues that are of interest to the Provincial People's Council delegates, voters and people of the province. These include: Resettlement policies and ensuring livelihoods for people in areas affected by hydropower projects in the province; The state of power grid infrastructure degradation, causing unsafety and poor quality of electricity in many areas; the rate of application of scientific research results into real life and the application of science and technology to promote increased labor productivity and the application of high technology to serve socio-economic development in the province.

This session also conducts personnel work under the authority of the Provincial People's Council and organizes the awarding of Medals of various ranks to provincial leaders, leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors. At the 6th session, the Provincial People's Council will pass the Provincial People's Council Resolutions and close the session on July 20, 2018.
