(Baonghean.vn) - The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial People's Council held a regular meeting to evaluate activities in July, key tasks in August; and listened to and gave opinions on a number of other important contents.
On the morning of July 30, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a regular meeting to evaluate the activities in July and the key tasks in August 2018 of the Standing Committee, committees and the Office of the Provincial People's Council; Evaluate the results of the 6th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council; Listen to and give opinions on the Plan to prepare and organize the 4th Conference of the Standing Committees of the North Central provinces in Nghe An; Listen to and give opinions on the budget estimate for the Project to improve the quality and efficiency of the activities of the 17th Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term.

The meeting identified key tasks for August, including issuing a plan to monitor compliance with laws on environmental protection, occupational safety and hygiene, and policies for workers in the province.
The committees develop plans to monitor and survey a number of contents such as: Surveying the activities of foreign language and study abroad centers in the province; monitoring the management and use of the Forest Protection and Development Fund in the period of 2013 - 2017; monitoring the management and implementation of preferential credit support policies for the poor and other policy beneficiaries in ethnic minority and mountainous areas from 2014 to present; monitoring thematic issues on state management of a number of business lines with conditions on security and order...
Evaluating the results of the 6th session of the Provincial People's Council, delegates acknowledged the good preparation and service, promoting democracy and collective intelligence to discuss and decide on many important issues, creating a legal corridor to promote the socio-economic development of the province. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council chaired the drafting and submission to the Provincial People's Council 6 draft resolutions, 10 reports; the committees prepared 37 reports.
At the 6th session, the Provincial People's Council received 7 complaints and denunciations; received 12 citizens and 68 calls via the online telephone line. The question and answer session had 18 comments from 14 delegates questioning the Director of the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Industry and Trade; 26 delegates spoke up to discuss and propose to supplement and edit 8 resolutions; 82 comments were made at the group discussion sessions; 23 representatives of departments and branches explained their opinions at the group discussion session.

In addition to assessing the achievements, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council also recognized the shortcomings and limitations to promptly overcome them. Noting the progress of the implementation of the activities of verifying reports; the settlement of voters' recommendations, and the response to recommendations after supervision still have slow processing content...
From there, the meeting also made a number of recommendations to the Provincial People's Committee, delegates, committees and the Office of the Provincial People's Council to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Provincial People's Council's operations.
At the meeting, there were 9 opinions expressing their assessment and experience of the activities of the People's Council in July, especially the activities serving the 6th session of the Provincial People's Council. In particular, the delegates acknowledged the contributions of press agencies, especially Nghe An Newspaper, in disseminating the content of the session; proposed adjustments, summarized experiences, and reports on a number of document preparation tasks serving the activities of the Provincial People's Council...
The meeting also listened to and commented on the Plan to prepare and organize the 4th Conference of the Standing Committee of the North Central provinces in Nghe An; Listened to and commented on the budget estimate for the Project to improve the quality and efficiency of the Provincial People's Council's activities for the 17th term, 2016 - 2021.
Previously, the report at the meeting showed that in July, the provincial People's Council committees prepared contents related to monitoring and surveying activities according to the plan, including developing a plan to prepare for surveying the activities of foreign language and study abroad centers in the province; preparing for monitoring the state management of a number of business lines with conditions on security and order in the province.
Regarding citizen reception, the People's Council received 44 petitions, complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections and processed 44/44 petitions, of which 33 petitions were transferred to levels and sectors and 11 petitions were kept according to regulations.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Cao Thi Hien acknowledged the efforts of the People's Council committees in preparing documents and serving the 6th session of the Provincial People's Council as well as the activities of the People's Council committees.
Comrade Cao Thi Hien accepted the opinions and suggestions of the delegates at the meeting, and requested relevant committees to pay attention to and add suggestions to improve operational efficiency.
Regarding the selection of questions at the Provincial People's Council meetings, Comrade Cao Thi Hien suggested that the People's Council committees learn from their experiences in the survey and supervision process to better prepare relevant documents. At the same time, she suggested that the Provincial People's Council continue to supervise the handling of recommendations after the meeting; and prepare well the work program for August 2018.
