Regarding the case of a newborn baby boy being kidnapped by a woman posing as a medical staff member who sneaked into the General Hospital of Chuong My District, Hanoi on August 19, the leader of the General Hospital of Chuong My District said that the Deputy Head of the Obstetrics Department of the hospital was the one who performed the surgery to deliver the baby boy and was the one who discovered the person posing as a medical staff member intending to kidnap the baby.
Also according to information from the hospital, at around 8:00 p.m. on August 19, a woman wearing a white blouse went to check on newborns in the department. This person said that Ms. H.’s son had jaundice and needed to be treated, and took the baby away. Seeing unusual signs, the baby’s grandmother became suspicious and followed.
At the same time, when the subject had just walked a short distance, he was caught by Doctor Nguyen Tien Thanh, Deputy Head of the Obstetrics Department (Chuong My District General Hospital) - the person who directly performed the cesarean section on the patient H.

Seeing a stranger wearing a blouse without the hospital logo, Doctor Thanh immediately stopped and questioned her and together with Ms. H.'s family members, took back the newborn baby boy from the subject. Seeing this, the woman was scared and ran away but was arrested by the security force and handed over to the police.
The leader of Chuong My District General Hospital added that after the incident, hospital staff regularly visited and encouraged the child's family, and reported the incident to the Hanoi Department of Health. The hospital soon had a form of commendation and reward for the medical staff who promptly detected and prevented this kidnapping.
As reported by CAND Online, on August 20, Chuong My District Police (Hanoi) said they were temporarily detaining Nguyen Thi Tuyen (born in 1989, in Thuy Huong Commune, Chuong My District) to clarify the act of "Appropriating a person under 16 years old".
According to initial information, on the evening of August 19, Tuyen pretended to be a medical staff member of Chuong My District General Hospital and went to the Obstetrics Department of this hospital to take possession of the newborn baby of the mother Nguyen Thi H. (born in 1983, Hoa Chinh Commune, Chuong My District). However, while trying to take the newborn baby boy out of the hospital, he was discovered and arrested.
