Details revealed about the upcoming filming of 'King Kong 2' in Vietnam.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the King Kong 2 (Kong: Skull Island) film crew will be coming to Vietnam this February to film some scenes.

Reportedly, some of the key locations featured in the film include the Son Doong cave system, Ha Long Bay, and Ninh Binh... It is also known that Vietnam is the homeland of the giant ape species featured in the film.

Kong: Skull Island is the sequel to the blockbuster King Kong (2005), directed by filmmaker Jordan Vogt-Roberts. The first film is set in the early 1930s and tells the story of a group of explorers and documentary filmmakers discovering Skull Island, near Sumatra.

They came here to find out the truth about a giant ape named Kong. Upon arriving, the expedition team encountered King Kong and his enemies, the colossal dinosaurs. They decided to capture King Kong and bring him back to New York so that humanity could admire him…

The setting for the new episode takes place decades after the original story and will take viewers into "the mysterious and dangerous home of the ape king."

According to British actor Tom Hiddleston, who plays the lead role in the film, Kong: Skull Island will be staged quite differently from previous King Kong films and will offer a new interpretation of the legend of this giant ape. The new installment will still follow the storyline of the original film, but will place King Kong in a new environment with unique instincts.

Kong: Skull Island has just completed key filming in Hawaii and Detroit (USA). The film crew arrived in Australia on January 1st and filmed on Stradbroke Island, near Jumpinpin. The scene in the film depicts a US fighter plane crashing on the beach during World War II.

Reportedly, to film this scene, the film crew had to move many sand dunes on the island to create the setting for the story about the world's most famous ape.

"You can't get close to the filming locations. The police and security forces are very vigilant in those areas," a visitor to South Stradbroke Island told the Gold Coast newspaper.

The film also stars American actress Brie Larson and veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson. This cinematic work is scheduled to be released to audiences in March 2017.
