North Korea's internet system has completely 'crashed'.
Internet connectivity between North Korea and the rest of the world, which was already weak, was completely cut off early this morning, December 23 (Vietnam time), according to the technology website Engadget.

"Currently, all of North Korea's internet connections to the world have been cut off," Bloomberg quoted Doug Madory, director of internet analysis at the Dyn Research Center in New Hampshire, USA.
This is considered the worst internet outage in North Korean history. Pyongyang only has four websites connected to the internet, but all of them have ceased functioning, according to Engadget.
Many experts believe that North Korea's network system was taken down by hackers. On December 20, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officially accused Pyongyang of being behind attacks on US networks, including the theft of data and terrorist threats against Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Immediately, US President Barack Obama announced that the US would take appropriate retaliatory measures against North Korea's destructive actions and demanded that the Asian nation compensate for the estimated $200 million in damages.
The U.S. is currently refusing to comment on the incident. Bloomberg quoted Bernadette Meehan, the White House National Security spokeswoman, as saying, "If North Korea's internet goes down, you should ask their government."
