Multimedia Interactive System: Employee Monitoring Channel
(Baonghean) - "Multimedia interactive system" is a new solution that Vietnam Social Security (VSS) has just introduced to connect people and businesses with the social security agency.
This is also one of the services of the "Ecosystem 4.0 of the Social Insurance Industry" to improve service quality and protect the rights of participants.
More messages, more benefits
Since April 2019, the SMS service to notify, look up the process of payment, benefit, and settlement of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance records in the Multimedia Interactive System between people, businesses, and social insurance agencies has officially come into operation. At the same time, 2 types of SMS messages have been deployed simultaneously: "Vietnam Social Insurance brand SMS" and "Syntax SMS" for units and individuals to look up themselves.
“Vietnam Social Security brand messages” are implemented by the Social Security agency in the following cases: Sending notifications to business representatives after the business pays social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance premiums for employees; automatically notifying employees to stop paying social insurance when the business reports a reduction or discontinuation of social insurance for employees; sending text messages to notify units/individuals submitting documents to the Social Security agency and when the Social Security agency completes the documents; notifying voluntary social insurance participants when the registered payment method is about to expire; notifying family health insurance participants 30 days before the health insurance card expires.
In particular, with this service, businesses and participants will not have to pay any fees. To receive messages, businesses and participants only need to register the phone number of the business representative and the participant with the Social Insurance agency, then the system will automatically send messages to inform about the above issues.
To facilitate people to look up information about their participation in social insurance and health insurance, Vietnam Social Security has deployed a free online lookup utility on the Vietnam Social Security Electronic Information Portal.

Particularly for those who have not registered their phone number with the Social Insurance agency, to look up information about their participation in Social Insurance, Health Insurance, and Unemployment Insurance, organizations and individuals can compose a text message according to the syntax and send it to the switchboard 8079 to look up information.
Compared to other services, the implementation of the Multimedia Interactive System, especially with Vietnam Social Security brand messages, has received the response and agreement of businesses, employees and people.

For employees, looking up information about their social insurance participation process through the Lookup Utility on the Vietnam Social Insurance Portal and text messages is also an "indirect" form of checking whether the enterprise has fulfilled its obligation to pay social insurance for employees or not.
Talking about this, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai - a worker working at a private enterprise in Vinh city said: "For a long time, we still had to deduct our salary to pay social insurance, but in reality, we did not know whether the enterprise paid or not. In particular, for people participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance, receiving text messages from their phones notifying them of the health insurance card expiration date and the next voluntary social insurance participation period has helped participants not to forget their schedules and proactively continue to participate to ensure health insurance benefits and continuous social insurance participation without interruption.

In recent years, the application of electronic software has helped the interaction between enterprises, employees and social insurance agencies to be implemented better and better. In Nghe An, since September 2018, Nghe An Social Insurance has coordinated with VNPT Nghe An and Viettel Nghe An to send text messages to notify the monthly social insurance debt amount via the phone number of the representative of the employer who owes social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; notify health insurance participants of the date of health insurance card expiration and notify voluntary social insurance participants of the expiration date of the voluntary social insurance registration method to continue participating to ensure benefits.
