(Baonghean) - In order to create a vibrant, joyful, and enriching summer for children and teenagers, over the past month, the Youth Union and Children's Council at all levels from the district to the grassroots in Yen Thanh have been organizing many rich and diverse summer activities, meeting the needs for recreation and entertainment, "learning through play - playing through learning" of children and teenagers in the area.

Attending a summer activity for children in Hamlet 3, Son Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh District), one can truly feel the excitement and enthusiasm as they immerse themselves in many lively, engaging, and meaningful activities. Participating in the summer activities, the children not only listen to the leaders disseminate and teach them about culture and law, but they also learn to sing, dance, and play beneficial physical and traditional games. Through various cultural, artistic, and sports programs, traditional games combined with modern and interesting dances, the event attracted a large number of children and teenagers.

Dao Duy Quang, from Hamlet 3, Son Thanh Commune, said: "During the summer, when we participate in activities, the leaders organize many folk games for us such as blindfolded goat catching, pairing up, and forming trios... These games are very beneficial and interesting..." Le Trong Linh, Secretary of the Son Thanh Commune Youth Union, said: "After receiving the young people for summer activities in the locality, we developed a plan and implemented it in all residential areas and youth branches. Through this, we aim to provide young people with places to play and have fun, avoiding dangers such as drowning or burning beehives in the forest, which can cause forest fires."

After a stressful school year, summer is a time for children and teenagers to relax and participate in recreational activities. Therefore, during the handover meetings of children and teenagers from schools to the Youth Union councils of 39 communes and towns in the district, the Yen Thanh District Youth Union Council requested local youth organizations and councils to develop specific programs and plans to organize recreational activities, creating healthy playgrounds for children and teenagers, while also promoting national holidays, educating young people about traffic safety, and advising them to stay away from ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams to avoid the risk of drowning and injury.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh, Secretary of the Town Youth Union and President of the Town Children's Council of Yen Thanh Town, shared: To further improve the quality of summer activities in the residential area, the Town Youth Union Executive Committee has implemented recreational activities such as: opening volunteer summer cultural classes for junior high school students; organizing branch and team activities incorporating folk games, singing and dancing for children. In addition, on Saturdays and Sundays, the Youth Union Executive Committee also organizes cleaning of village roads and alleys, attracting a large number of young people to participate. At the same time, they organize lively cultural, artistic, and sports activities depending on the theme of activities in July, which is "Showing Gratitude"; and in August, which is "Supporting Students to School". Youth union branches in Yen Thanh also promote movements such as "Acts of Compassion," "Showing Gratitude," and "Remembering Our Roots," organizing activities for children to help families of policy beneficiaries, families of wounded soldiers and martyrs, and care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the district.

Continuing to raise funds and support the "For Our Beloved Children" Fund campaign, donating warm clothes to poor children. The activities focus on disseminating information through various forms and forums to educate young people on raising awareness and actively participating in environmental protection and climate change mitigation, while maintaining outdoor activities and visits to historical sites.

In particular, in coordination with relevant departments and agencies, free swimming lessons were organized for over 30 young people in various localities, and a competition on Scout rituals and the beauty of Scout members was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd.

Ms. Pham Thi Huyen Trang, Vice President of the Yen Thanh District Youth Union Council, said: "During this summer, the District Youth Union Standing Committee focused on directing grassroots Youth Union branches to organize branch activities combined with Youth Union activities, implementing common activities between Youth Union members and young people, thereby creating connections between them and providing opportunities for young people to organize activities together with their Youth Union members. This helps them to strive and train to become good Youth Union members. The District Youth Union Standing Committee also directed grassroots Youth Union branches to diversify the forms and content of Youth Union and Youth Union activities, organizing competitions for children in activities such as 'picking flowers democratically,' learning about the Youth Union and Youth Union, and suitable folk games. This aims to attract young people, Youth Union members, and Youth Union members to participate in these activities."
