Football motto for the Year of the Goat: Don't try to catch a goat blindfolded in the Year of the Goat.

Let's follow the ups and downs of football over the past year through the following manifesto...

Bóng đá năm 2014 trải qua rất nhiều cung bậc cảm xúc
Football in 2014 experienced a wide range of emotions.

Hey football players!

We often hear,

Football king Pelé dominated the world, scoring over 1,000 goals and winning the Jules Rimes Cup forever. Maradona, though short in stature, possessed extraordinary talent, a "hand of God" that propelled Argentina to the pinnacle of world football. Beckenbauer was a renowned figure, a rock-solid defender, a celebrated libero throughout the World Cup. The Laudrup brothers, initially unknown, dared to challenge all of Europe to write an Andersen-esque epic.

In the past, our predecessors diligently trained, shedding countless tears and sweat to become icons and legends; there have always been such figures throughout history. If they hadn't trained and competed professionally, they would have simply died of old age in their homes, unable to leave their mark on history.

You guys, being from the "shorts and jersey" generation, know little about history, and hearing about the examples above will probably leave you completely bewildered, like ducks listening to classical music. I don't blame you for that. However, I'm sure you all know the talented individuals I'll mention below.

Who is Cristiano Ronaldo, who does over a thousand push-ups daily, cherishes his fitness like the apple of his eye, and bravely led Real Madrid to their tenth Champions League title? What qualities does Lionel Messi possess that allow him to abstain from alcohol, gambling, and women throughout his life, focusing solely on rigorous training, and winning four consecutive FIFA Ballon d'Or awards with ease?

Mourinho, though a novice, secretly sought guidance from masters, compensating for his lack of experience with diligence and intelligence. He conquered many, earning a reputation as a cunning strategist, a skilled general in times of turmoil, and audacious in times of peace. Pep Guardiola, though seemingly incapable of tying a chicken, built his empire from scratch, leading both Barcelona and Bayern Munich to become undisputed champions.

What kind of person is Kiatisuk? In his first stint as head coach of the Thai national team, he sidelined established veterans and fielded a young squad for the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup, yet they won immediately, earning the admiration and respect of many. And how did the Vietnamese U19 players perform, driving fans wild throughout the past year, prompting fans across Asia and Europe to write down their names in anticipation of future encounters?

Moreover,

You were born in a country where football is the number one sport. When you win, the whole nation rejoices; when you lose, millions of fans weep. Just playing beautifully and honestly is enough to win the team's affection and admiration; even without bringing home a championship, the sense of national pride is deeply felt.

As football players, you never go hungry; you get good clothes whenever you need them; if your salary is low, you get a raise; transfers come with a generous signing bonus; wins bring cash rewards; achievements are recognized; and in tournaments, you receive benefits dozens of times greater than other workers… Where do all these things come from if not for the fans?

And yet,

For years, whenever a tournament comes around, fans forget to eat, queuing up in the freezing cold at midnight to buy tickets; their hearts ache, tears stream down their faces, accepting exorbitant prices from scalpers just to get a ticket to the stadium to cheer on their team; they only hope to fly with their players to support them in a foreign land, and even if they are beaten up by hooligans or endure countless hardships, they will still be willing to do it.

But in the year of the Horse, we see one club threatening to withdraw from the league; the next day, another team has players involved in match-fixing for money facing trial and sentencing. Would you feel happy about that? Then there's the violence on the pitch, kicks aimed at injuring opponents, causing fellow players to writhe in pain on the field. Oh, how heartbreaking!

The hearts of the fans, betrayed by their teammates, still yearn for glory. The tears shed at My Dinh Stadium could not extinguish their belief in victory. Such kindness and sacrifices can only be repaid with a thousand victories and a hundred gold trophies to truly express their gratitude.

But never mind,

As the Year of the Goat arrives, we, the Goat, have a few words to say to the football players of our country:

Honestly, every football player needs to uphold a high level of professionalism, dedicate themselves fully to beautiful football, and not engage in deceptive practices that waste the fans' expectations. Otherwise, they will only destroy their own reputation and careers.

It requires diligent training, a disciplined sleep schedule, and avoiding idle chatter, excessive drinking, gambling, going to nightclubs, or playing video games all night long, which harms health and leads to a state of lethargy and sluggishness on the field, to the point where "the blood of a bull is as bland as the blood of a goat."

It's absolutely essential to abandon the lecherous habits that are so prevalent among footballers. The lure of romance is always lurking, waiting to ensnare those with a lecherous streak. And don't be tempted by "strong liquor, fat women, and young girls," burying yourself in debauchery. When that happens, scandals won't just fall from the sky; one moment of recklessness can lead to lifelong regret, ruining your career and earning you the reputation of being a "pervert."

Football is a team sport; a single swallow cannot bring forth spring. Teamwork and solidarity must be prioritized above all else, and we must avoid petty squabbles and petty squabbles. We must also remember the story of the "Goats Crossing the Bridge," where both goats perished because of their eagerness to win.

Therefore,

While you're young and strong, train diligently, seize every opportunity to showcase your talent, and only then will you have the chance to shine.

How can we ensure that everyone, like Cong Vinh and Cong Phuong, can win the SEA Games 2015 gold medal, bringing glory to Vietnamese football and fulfilling the hopes of the fans? Let's not be like the saying, "A fertile field needs a goat to plow it," where young people are only left with shame, regret, and oblivion in their old age.

At that time,

Their paths to success and careers are wide open, their names will be recorded in history for a thousand years, and they will be honored as role models for future players. Achieving this brings happiness not only to them but also to their families and society as a whole. Everything is clear, not obscure like the game of "Blind Man's Bluff."

There, three goats gathered at the gate, celebrating the saying "Three Goats Bring Good Fortune."

Look! The five lucky gods have knocked on the door, joyfully proclaiming "Five Blessings Entering the House!"

The moment of transition has arrived; the Year of the Goat replaces the Year of the Horse. In this sacred moment, our Goat raises its voice in a call to arms, so that all may understand our intentions and strive together.

Everyone knows!
