(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the policy of converting crop and livestock structure, in recent years, in Ky Son district, many farm and ranch models have appeared, bringing high economic value, contributing to changing people's business thinking.

Mr. Lo Xuan Nghia in Xop Tu village, My Ly commune, had raised breeding sows for many years, but due to not applying breeding techniques, the results were low. Not discouraged, in 2014, he decided to invest in sending his second son to the lowland districts to learn and study the techniques of raising super lean pigs. Initially, he invested in buying 25 pigs to raise. After more than 3 months of caring for the first experimental batch of pigs, his family earned a profit of 25 million VND.

Mr. Nghia's pig farm has 5 pens, each pen has from 10 to 15 pigs.

From the initial results, in early 2016, he continued to invest in expanding the solid barn to an area of 100 m2 and invested in raising nearly 50 pigs. After more than 1 month of caring for the pigs, they are growing well, expected to bring a significant source of income for his family. In addition to raising pigs, Mr. Nghia's family also raises 10 cows, 4 buffaloes, some poultry and more than 600 m2 of rice. His family's comprehensive model brings in an annual income of 50 to 70 million VND.

Mr. Lo Van Sum in Khe Nan village, Chieu Luu commune has also invested in raising pigs for meat since 2010. Initially, with only 4 pens, each pen raising 6 to 7 pigs, he now has a fairly large pig farm, each year he sells 3 litters of pigs, each litter from 20 to 25 commercial pigs, earning an income of 70 to 80 million VND. In the near future, he plans to expand the scale of the farm and invest in raising more sows, to proactively source local piglets, not having to import from lowland districts as at present.

, Ngoài nuôi lợn gia đình ông Nghĩa còn nuôi và chăm sóc 10 con bò, 4 con trâu, một số con gia cầm và hơn 600m2 lúa nước.
In addition to raising pigs, Mr. Nghia's family also raises and takes care of 10 cows, 4 buffaloes, some poultry and more than 600 square meters of rice fields.

Promoting the potential of the mountainous area, the Party Committee and government of Ky Son district are continuing to mobilize resources and sponsors to deploy and build models of livestock farming, fruit tree planting, forest planting and building farms and ranches to help many poor households in the district.

In addition, the district has actively directed and encouraged farmers to boldly borrow preferential loans to invest in building livestock and crop farming models on forest hills to improve economic efficiency on the same area, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Currently, in Ky Son district, there are over 282 farm models with incomes from 100 to 150 million VND per year.

From spontaneous, small-scale livestock farming with low economic efficiency, many industrial and semi-industrial farms in livestock farming in Ky Son district have now been established, bringing high and sustainable economic efficiency, helping many poor households in the district to become rich legitimately.

The Resolution of the 22nd Party Congress of Ky Son District, term 2015 - 2020, sets out to strive for an average economic growth rate of 13.5 - 14.5%/year, in which the total livestock and poultry herd increases by an average of 8 to 9%/year; actively shifting the structure of crops and livestock, expanding the scale of production, making livestock farming a strength in the economic development of the district. Special attention is paid to promoting the development of local cattle and pig herds into commodities, creating stable income for people, gradually reducing the average annual poverty rate from 4.5 to 5%.
