Efficiency from reverse flow water filter tank model

(Baonghean) -Since the beginning of 2011, Chau Quang commune (Quy Hop district, Nghe An) has widely implemented the clean water program for 25/25 hamlets and villages according to the reverse flow water filter tank model.

The reverse flow water filtration method is a simple, inexpensive, easy-to-implement method, as effective as the high-end water filters currently on the market. Following the reverse flow water filtration tank model, people only invest over 1 million VND to buy a tank. Ms. Vi Thi Quang in Ban Con hamlet said: "Our family was supported by the program with 3 cement tanks, including 1 water tank, 1 water filter tank and 1 filtered water tank, and was instructed on assembly techniques, using filter materials such as gravel, coal and clean sand... From having to go very far to get water for daily use because the water source in the village was heavily polluted, now the family is very secure with the program's water filter tank. After filtering, the water is clean and clear".

With the reverse flow water filter program, many households have clean water to use and no longer have to carry water far for daily activities. Ms. Vo Thi Xuan, an officer in charge of implementing the clean water program for the village, under the People's Committee of Chau Quang commune, added: Currently, the whole commune is implementing the program while mobilizing the people of the whole commune to try to filter water using this method. Many households in the commune, although not yet supported by the program, have spent their own money to buy tanks for use. Currently, the program has only been fully implemented in 5/25 hamlets and villages in the whole commune. In the coming time, it will be expanded throughout the area.

Chau Quang is one of the communes with the most polluted water sources in Quy Hop district, especially after annual floods, so Chau Quang people are looking forward to the program, by all means such as supporting cement tanks; consulting, technical guidance; encouraging people to voluntarily implement without relying on or waiting, so that every household in the commune can use clean water, ensuring long-term health in the face of increasingly heavily polluted water sources in the area.
