Higuain scores twice as Juventus win Torino derby
Torino's number one star, Andrea Belotti, was still shining, scoring the opening goal, but the outcome of the derby was no different from many years ago. Juventus won 3-1, with the main inspiration from Gonzalo Higuain.
Torino have never gone into the Torino derby with such confidence. They are seventh in Serie A and are the third highest scorers in the league with 31 goals, behind only Juventus (32) and Roma (35). Torino also have Andrea Belotti - Italy's current top scorer - who has 10 goals to his name before kick-off today.

And the match couldn't have started more favorably for Torino, when Belotti moved properly, escaped Lichtsteiner to receive Baselli's cross from the right, and beat goalkeeper Buffon in the 16th minute. But that was all the team nicknamed "The Bull" could do at home at Grande Torino.
Higuain showed why Juventus spent nearly $100 million to bring him from Napoli in the summer by shining one after another, creating decisive turning points. The Argentine striker equalized 1-1 right in the middle of the first half. In the second half, when they were most motivated, determined to regain the lead, Torino were doused with cold water by Higuain when he increased the score to 2-1 for Juventus in the 82nd minute.
The second goal almost decided the match, and Miralem Pjanic's third goal, sealing a 3-1 victory for Juventus, was only a natural consequence.

The three full points from their city rivals helped Juventus consolidate their top position with 39 points after 15 rounds, seven points ahead of Roma and Milan - the two teams ranked next and will face each other directly tomorrow, December 12. Winning the sixth consecutive scudetto seems to be only a matter of time for the "Old Lady".
For Torino, the defeat was not surprising, because in the last 21 derbies, they lost to Juventus 17 times. Reversing the history of confrontation between the two sides is clearly not an easy task.
