The $99 million contract made his old team regret after scoring the winning goal for Juventus in the 2-1 victory in the top match of round 11 on the evening of October 29.

Goals: Bonucci (50'), Higuain (71') - Callejon (54').
Gonzalo Higuain is the name that made waves in Italian football last summer when he moved from Napoli to rivals Juventus for a record fee of 99 million dollars. It is worth noting that Higuain was the soul of Napoli last season with 36 goals in Serie A and is being worshiped by the fans of Naples.
The deal was also a sensation in the press with the back and forth between Higuain and President Aurelio De Laurentiis. As if to prove his worth, the Argentine striker scored against his former team in a match that had great significance for this season's championship.
It was a memorable evening for Higuain, even though he did not celebrate the goal that sealed the 2-1 win. On the other side, the one who had the most regret was defender Faouzi Ghoulam. The Algerian international "assisted" both goals for Juventus, both from clearances within the 16m50 box.
Ghoulam helped Bonucci open the scoring in the 50th minute with a clearance that missed the target and flew back to the Juventus star's feet for a volley. For the second goal, Ghoulam rushed in to help block Khedira but instead put the ball in a good position for Higuain to finish.
Ghoulam's lack of luck saw Napoli's efforts in Turin go up in smoke. Callejon's equaliser was not enough to earn Napoli a point and they had to watch their opponents move up the table. Juventus are on 27 points, seven ahead of third-placed Napoli. The Naples side could even drop to fifth if Milan and Lazio both win their games on Sunday, October 30.
During the match on the evening of October 29, Napoli fans were banned from the Juventus Arena for security reasons. However, Higuain still sent a message to them by lowering his hand after scoring a goal as an apology. Before the match, Napoli fans expressed their anger by burning shirts and pictures of the 28-year-old player.
Higuain could have scored twice against Napoli but a failed header kept the game interesting in the final minutes. Dries Mertens almost equalised for Napoli but squandered it by shooting wide from close range.
