On her official Twitter page, Mrs. Clinton shared: "The Charlotte Police Department needs to release the video recording the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott immediately. We must ensure justice and work to heal our divisions."

Clinton's campaign also said she planned to visit Charlotte on September 25, after a week of protests in the city. However, on the evening of September 23 (local time), her campaign said the trip had been postponed at the request of Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts.

"After further discussions with local leaders, we have decided to postpone the September 25 trip so as not to disrupt the city's work," Clinton's communications director Jennifer Palmieri said. "Ms. Clinton plans to visit Charlotte next Sunday if circumstances allow."

Before the first live debate between the two candidates for the US presidency on September 26, both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Donald Trump faced questions about the violence between US police and African-American people in North Carolina and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
